This program allows students to provide anonymous tips to the administration and local law enforcement about crimes. The students in Tarrant County will receive a monetary reward ranging from $10 - $1,000 if the tip proves instrumental in solving the crime. This Campus Crime Stoppers Program promotes school spirit, pride and responsibility and allows students to take action against victimization and crime in their school.
What is a Campus Crime Stoppers tip?
Crime Stoppers tips include information about unsolved crimes, wanted fugitives, narcotics, and possession of weapons. Only tips received through the Crime Stoppers hotline, 817-469-TIPS (8477), or Crime Stoppers website are eligible for Crime Stoppers rewards.
What is NOT a Campus Crime Stoppers tip?
The Campus Crime Stoppers program is not a substitute for the 9-1-1 emergency system. In the event of an emergency, students are encouraged to call the 9-1-1 emergency system immediately!
The Campus Crime Stoppers reward system is intended to be an anonymous one, where there are no face-to-face communications.
Campus Crime Stoppers offers rewards to those persons who provide crime-solving tips directly to Campus Crime Stoppers in an anonymous manner. Those who do not comply with this condition of a reward offer are not legally entitled to receive a Campus Crime Stoppers reward.
Should Campus Crime Stoppers deem it appropriate to pay a reward, in an amount solely within the discretion of Campus Crime Stoppers, it is conditional upon the informant signing a Waiver document which acknowledges that the communication is not one that is protected by Campus Crime Stoppers. Campus Crime Stoppers cannot promise to keep an informant's identity a secret if Campus Crime Stoppers has seen the informant face-to-face or if the informant has given her/his name to Campus Crime Stoppers, because the informant is only "confidential", not "anonymous.
